This is the Figure 9, not a bad knot. We prefer the double Bight Bowline, but when we have end-users who are really big fans of the figure 8, and reluctant to change, this is a good option. As we discuss in the video, it is typically a stronger knot than the Fig.8, and quite a bit easier to untie. It does have a nice built in redundant safety effect also... If you under-tie it, you have a figure 8, and if you over-tie it, you have a figure 10...both solid rescue knots.
